The contradictions we carry

A whole world in one family.

Probably my favorite book. In the three brothers, Smerdyakov, and their father, I see something of almost everyone. The family feels like a whole world of competing desires, beliefs, and contradictions.

I recognize myself in Dmitri’s passion and in Ivan’s intellectual struggles. That tension between what we feel and what we can reason our way through is what stays with me. I don’t read these characters as people entirely separate from one another. I see parts of myself in them.

More than
a job title.

Based in Brazil.
Always up for a good conversation.

I’m drawn to things that make me reconsider what I thought I understood.

Sometimes that’s a difficult software problem. Sometimes it’s Ivan Karamazov wrestling with an idea, or Don Quixote seeing a world that nobody else sees.

My background is in Materials Engineering, with a period as a visiting scholar at MIT. Today, I build software across backend systems, applied AI, and products of my own.

I like getting close to a problem: learning the language of the people dealing with it, questioning my assumptions, and taking responsibility for what I build. Away from the code, those questions tend to follow me into whatever I’m reading.
